Day one is private. An hour to an hour and a half, one-to-one with your teacher, in which you learn the technique. On days two, three and four you come back for small group sessions of about an hour and a half, where your experience is discussed and the practice is refined. Two online sessions follow, one and two weeks later. From then on you meditate by yourself, at home, twenty minutes twice a day.
Included in the fee: six months of group sessions and lifelong follow-up.
You pay according to income. The fee runs from €495 to €895 and the full table is on the fee page; full-time students pay €345 and school students €245. Paying in three instalments through In3 or Klarna costs nothing extra, and there is a 60-day satisfaction guarantee.
Many employers reimburse the course if you discuss it with them. Many Dutch collective labour agreements (cao) include a budget for wellbeing or career development, and a TM course can qualify. Employers rarely mention it themselves, so ask HR. Download our leaflet for employers (pdf) and send it to your employer; it is in Dutch, because most HR departments here are Dutch. You can send along our research overview (pdf, also in Dutch). After payment you automatically get an invoice in your own name, or in your company's name if you ask, that you can hand in at HR. We cannot promise reimbursement by a health insurer; that depends on your policy. If you work as a freelancer or run your own business, you can have the invoice made out to your company. If the course contributes to your work, it may be deductible as a business expense, and if you are VAT-registered you get the 21% VAT back. Ask your accountant what applies in your situation.
The follow-up is not tied to the Netherlands. It is free for life, and any certified TM teacher in the world can give it, wherever you move next.
